Slovakia Joins the European Quantum Communication Infrastructure

The QCI-AT-CZ-PL and QCI-SK-CZ-PL projects, contributing to the European Quantum Communication Infrastructure (EuroQCI) initiative, will hold their kick-off meetings and a joint technical workshop on 21–22 October 2026 at the Institute of Physics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, QUTE Pavilion, in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The event will bring project partners together to align objectives, discuss project implementation and milestones, and exchange technical expertise on quantum communication infrastructure. The technical workshop will focus on practical use cases, the integration of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) with Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), key management systems, interoperability, and cross-border integration.

The projects contribute to European efforts to develop secure and interoperable quantum communication infrastructure. The European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) is involved in the implementation of the relevant EU funding programme.

About the QCI-SK-CZ-PL Project

The QCI-SK-CZ-PL project contributes to the European European Quantum Communication Infrastructure (EuroQCI) initiative, which aims to establish a secure quantum communication infrastructure across the European Union. The project focuses on cooperation between Slovakia, Czechia and Poland to advance the development and integration of quantum communication technologies and support secure, interoperable cross-border connectivity.
